In the fourth quarter of 2020, the tabletop board game category saw interesting trends among the top Android apps in France. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the performance of these games, highlighting downloads and user activity.

Chess, published by Chess Prince, saw its downloads peak in November at nearly 25K before dropping to around 22K in the final week of December. Weekly active users climbed steadily, from 62K at the start of October to over 104K in the week of December 21.

The app Chess - Play and Learn by Chess.com experienced significant growth, with revenue soaring from under $100 to over $13K by the year's end. Downloads and active users followed a similar upward trajectory, with downloads jumping from just over 1.6K to approximately 31K and weekly active users increasing from about 31K to over 104K.

Checkers, another classic game from publisher English Checkers, maintained a steady increase in downloads, reaching nearly 11K by the third week of December. Active users showed growth as well, starting the quarter at roughly 11K and climbing to just over 22K.

The game Checkers Online, offered by CC Games, also displayed growth in downloads, peaking at around 12K in the final week of December. This was accompanied by a rise in weekly active users, from approximately 25K to over 38K in the same period.

Lastly, Tic Tac Toe Glow: 2 Players by Arclite Systems, despite not generating revenue for most of the quarter, witnessed an uptick in downloads and active users. Downloads nearly quadrupled from the start of October to over 11K in the third week of December, and weekly active users more than doubled, reaching 38K by the year's end.
